Prepare for a day like this
Prepare for a day like this... On the authority of al-Baraa ibn 'Aazib (radhiyallaahu 'anhu) who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), he suddenly looked towards a group (of people) and said: ((For what reason have they gathered here?)) It was said: In order to dig a grave. So the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) became alarmed and startled and he quickly went ahead of his Companions until he reached the grave, then he knelt upon it, and I turned my face towards him (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), in order to see what he was doing. He (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) cried until the earth became wet with his tears, then he turned to us and said: ((O my brothers! Prepare for a day like this)). { al-Bukhaaree in at-Taareekh, Ibn Maajah, Ahmad and others. It is a hasan hadeeth as indicated by Shaykh al-Albaanee in Silsilah al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah } __________________ O Allaah, give us comprehension of Your Religion and allow us to understand the inner secrets of Your commandments. Rectify for us the affairs of our Religion and our worldly life. And forgive us and our parents and all the Muslims, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful. And may the peace and blessings of Allaah be on Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and on his family and all his Companions. |

Cure, Polish, Clothe and Nourish the Heart
Ibn Al-Qayyim said The heart gets sick as the body does and its cure is in asking for forgiveness and protection. It also becomes rusty like a mirror does and it is polished by remembering Allah. The heart can also be naked like the body and can lose its dress and decoration, which is piety, and it can feel hunger and thirst like the body does, and its nourishment is knowledge, love, trust, and offering service to Allah. ***~~~~~*** __________________ Imam Ibn al-Jawzi said; "Know, that days are but hours, and hours are but breaths, and every soul is a container, hence let not any breath pass without any benefit, such as on the Day of Judgement you find an empty container and feel regret! Be aware of every hour and how it passes, and only spend it in the best possible way; do not neglect yourself, but render it accustomed to the noblest and best of actions, "and send to your grave that which will please you when you arrive to it |
