Is it obligatory for non- Arab muslims to learn Arabic? -answered by Sheikh Maher
Is it obligatory for non- Arab muslims to learn Arabic? Some brothers said that one of the students of knowledge said that it is a must for every muslim to learn Arabic.
Sheikh Maher Al-Qahtani replied back Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem, I don't know any evidence that obliges a person to learn Arabic, yet he has to learn the words that he worship Allah with like the Qur'an, saying the takbeer while praying, reciting Al-Fatiha, At-Tahiyat, and everything that he worships Allah with like the Azkar. Basically, Azkar should be recited as they are in Arabic if he wants the rewards then he has to try as much as he can to do it. If he can't learn the Fatiha , then he says SubhanAllah, Alhumdulillah, wa la ilaha illa Allah, waAllahu akbar source of the Arabic copy:http://bit.ly/oHS56i .
